The Guinea Heritage Association will celebrate Black History Month this Friday with a special Fourth Friday program at 6 p.m. as the GHA takes a look back at the accomplishments of the Gregory family. First cousins Cleo Warren, Marian Randall and Leon Gregory will share their thoughts, memories and displays of this notable Gloucester family. Tristan Butler, Cleo’s granddaughter, will open the program with special music. The Gregory family operated the Wagon Wheel, a stop on the Chitlin’ Circuit (a network of performance venues that provided a platform for African American entertainers during the era of segregation) which started in a tiny spot on Guinea Road, then moved in 1944 to Route 17. Leon Gregory Sr. also ran the 300-seat Rim (movie) Theater in 1949, providing another entertainment option for the area’s black community. There will be time for questions and sharing as well as light refreshments after the program, which will be held at Buck’s Store Museum, 8850 Guinea Road, Hayes....
