GHA to hold two art programs

In May and June, the Guinea Heritage Association will be offering two programs focusing on art at the Buck’s Store Museum, Bena.
Coloring book
The first is the May introduction of a coloring book, “Coloring Around Guinea,” that was created by Linda Grow with both adults and children in mind. This “Fourth Friday” program is being offered on the “Third Friday”—May 17—from 6 to 7 p.m.
Creativity and history come together in this 25-page coloring book. The pages are filled with artwork by the late Harriet Cowen, who documented Guinea with her sketches of local buildings. Additional artwork was contributed by Lee Holston and Robin Marshall, with Richard Green’s added support and cooperation. The centerfold features Cowen’s map of Guinea with the pages identified for the places included in the book.
