A first-person interpretive program about local events during the summer of 1775 in the lead-up to the American Revolution will be presented on June 8 on the lawn of Rosewell, and two other times this summer in Yorktown and in Gloucester’s historic courthouse.
“From Colony to Country: The Revolutionary World of John Page and Lewis Burwell,” will entertain and engage a broad audience about the concerns of the people of Gloucester, a release stated. The program is made possible by a grant awarded to the Fairfield Foundation by the VA250 Commission in partnership with Virginia Humanities and is written and directed by Shades of Our Past, a Historic Triangle-based provider of historical entertainment and educational programs. Other partners include the Gloucester Historical Society, the Gloucester Museum of History, and the Watermen’s Museum.
