Former Mathews resident publishes her husband’s ‘A Tale from Horn Harbor’

Jack Galbraith’s novel for children, “A Tale from Horn Harbor,” has been published. A release describes this book as “an otherworldly tale filled with magic, danger and adventure.”

Galbraith completed the book before his death in 2016. His wife Harriet, now of San Antonio, Texas, had it published. The Galbraiths lived in Mathews for 20 years.

The story tells about “Young Hoops, a dull-witted fellow who gets thrust into a world of witchcraft, monarchs, and magical creatures in a quest to recover an artifact that can save his realm,” the release said.

The tale provides lessons on friendship, camaraderie and determination amid overwhelming problems, the release said.

The book is published by Page Publishing of New York City and in addition to the reluctant hero, contains a rebel warrior princess, a timid wolf, and a bat-winged cat, the release said.
