Food Challenge

Peasley Middle School students recently completed the Food Challenge class provided by the Virginia Cooperative Extension. This was a four-day after-school cooking enrichment class, completely paid for by grants that the VCE secured. Students learned about food safety, knife safety, nutrition, food groups and a balanced diet. The students worked in teams and competed against each other in product taste and presentation skills. Shown here are participating students Katherine McDuffie, at left, and Aaron Yarley.
