The Garden Club of Gloucester and Mathews held its 97th annual meeting and awards ceremony in June. Each year, the club awards the Toddsbury President’s Cup to one or two members who have contributed the most in all club endeavors.
This year, the award went to Sarah Finney and Beth Tripp for their contributions, leadership and community involvement in the club.
Finney joined GCGM in 1970, becoming its president in 1976. She has served on the board of directors, bylaws committee, parliamentarian, arts and flowers chair, beautification committee, Historic Garden Week, and as committee liaison with Garden Club of Virginia.
“Sarah Finney is our longest-serving active member, and she continues to serve the club and our community in so many ways each year,” said club president Lynne Manning. “We are grateful for the contributions of all of our members, but Sarah holds a special place in our hearts.”
