CAR SHOW: The Middle Peninsula Classic Cruisers will hold its Cruise-In at 5 p.m. Friday at the Main Street Center parking lot, Gloucester, The weekly Cruise-In events are held every Friday through October.
OYSTER EQUINOX: An “Oyster Equinox” will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday at The Hatchery, 425 Callis Wharf Road, Gwynn’s Island. Live music will be performed by Rae the Band, and a limited menu of new seasonal specials and craft beverages will be available for purchase.
WINE TASTINGS: Wine tastings with Silver Hand Meadery will be held for ages 21 and over from 5-9 p.m. Friday at Camp Cardinal RV Resort, 3149 Campground Road, Hayes. Tickets are $15. For more information, call 757-713-2199.
WORKBOAT REUNION: A workboat and buyboat reunion will be held in conjunction with the Mathews Maritime Museum’s Maritime Heritage Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Hudgins Horn Harbor Marina, 308 Railway Road, Port Haywood. There will be live music, demonstrations of maritime-related skills such as crabpot making and boatbuilding, vendor booths, food trucks, and more.
WINE, WHISKEY & WHATNOT: The Gloucester Wine Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Brent and Becky’s Bulbs, 7900 Daffodil Lane, Gloucester. There will be wine by Virginia’s top wineries, music by Slapnation, food vendors, artisans, and more, presented by the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce. LEGION BREAKFAST: American Legion Post 75, Gloucester, will hold its monthly community breakfast from 8-11:30 a.m. Sunday The breakfast is $12 for adults; $6 for children aged 5-10 (children under 4 eat free). Take-out is available. The breakfast will be held at the post building located at 5849 American Legion Way, off Route 17.
CONCERT ON THE GREEN: The final concert in the Concerts on the Green series, performed by the Courthouse Community Orchestra, Tom Euler, and others, will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday on the historic court circle, 6504 Main Street, Gloucester. Classical pieces, cinematic favorites, and more will be included.
COMEDY NIGHT: Mobjack Tavern (5036 George Washington Memorial Highway, Hayes) will host a comedy night beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday. Headlining the evening is Dan Frigolette. CHANGING COURSES: Historian Paul Mitchell will give a lecture at 7 p.m. next Thursday, Sept. 25, at Kingston Episcopal Parish House in Mathews on how two Confederate soldiers, the Rev. Frank Stringfellow and the Rev. Giles Buckner Cooke, served God and changed the course of history after the Civil War, a release stated. The parish house is located at 370 Main Street.
