THURSDAY SOCIAL SERVICES: The Gloucester Social Services Board will meet at 7:30 a.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 15, in the Department of Social Services conference room, 6641 Short Lane, Gloucester. SUPERVISORS: The Mathews County Board of Supervisors will meet at 6 o’clock this evening, Thursday, Jan. 15, in the historic courthouse on Court Street. CIVIC LEAGUE: The West Mathews Community League will meet at 6 p.m. this evening, Thursday, Jan. 15, at the league building in Bohannon. Christine Johnson of the Mathews Outdoor Club is scheduled to speak. The meeting will include a potluck meal and business session. SUNDAY HISTORY LECTURE: Rob Garnett will discuss the Elmira Prison Camp and the Confederate dead of Woodlawn National Cemetery in a lecture titled “Victims for the Grave” at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gloucester Library, Main Street Center.
