Dukes take three in past week

The Gloucester High School varsity baseball team picked up three wins during the past week.

The Dukes faced-off against Warwick last Wednesday, April 10, at home, defeating the Raiders, 16-3. Gloucester had 11 hits and three errors, while Warwick had two hits and three errors. Trevor Richardson pitched and Dylan Deyong had two hits for four at-bats and Hayden Simmons had two hits for three at-bats.

Gloucester beat Denbigh, 24-2, on the road last Thursday. Gloucester had 14 hits and one error, while the Patriots had eight hits and four errors. Chase Carson pitched for the Dukes. Deyoung had two hits for two at-bats and three RBIs. Tyler Boulay had two hits for three at-bats.

The Dukes also beat Menchville, 9-1, Tuesday evening at home. Gloucester had five hits and no errors and the Monarchs had seven hits and no errors. Austin Shackelford pitched the game. Simmons had one hit for one at-bat and had three RBIs.
