The Gloucester High School varsity baseball team defeated Jamestown, 2-0, Tuesday afternoon in the Class 4 Region A game, advancing the Dukes to the region finals on Friday.
Gloucester had seven hits and one error, while Jamestown had four hits and no errors.
Austin Shackelford (11-0) pitched the game. Brayden Enoch had two runs for two at-bats and Shackelford had one hit for three at-bats and an RBI.
GHS will play Smithfield at 2 p.m. Friday at War Memorial Stadium in Hampton for the region title. If the Dukes win Friday, they will host Tuesday’s state quarterfinal game.
