Piankatank River Ladies’ Golf Association member Vicky Gunn from Mathews joined team members Tana Estes (Winchester, Va.), Dawn Sayre (Kitty Hawk, N.C.) and Lynette Sawyer (Currituck, N.C.), from left, to place second in the 2024 Driving Fore the Cure benefit golf event. In addition to their second place win, Gunn won a Closest to the Pin contest on Hole 15. The all-women’s golf tournament, held annually the first Saturday in June, at Nags Head Links, benefits the Outer Banks Health and the Outer Banks Relief Foundation. Sponsored by the “Links Ladies” of Nags Head Golf Links, the tournament hosted 31 teams and 124 players.
