Drive-by 90th birthday

Gloucester resident Anita Minuth, standing left, always planned to have a huge bash on her 90th birthday, inviting 90 friends to celebrate and dance the night away. Then COVID-19 came along and dashed those plans. But daughter Karyn Gallion, standing right, came up with a plan. She asked the Court House Players, the local community theater group with which Minuth has volunteered for nearly four decades, to help organize a drive-by on Wednesday, May 13, along with a video compilation of friends wishing her mom a happy birthday. Minuth was not disappointed. At least two dozen vehicles, some packed with whole families, showed up, and dozens of friends added their well-wishes to the video. “It was just wonderful,” said Minuth.
