The Gwynn’s Island Civic League Foundation will hold a Dine to Donate event on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at Olivia’s in the Village, 6597 Main Street, Gloucester.
Olivia’s is open 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. that day and customers can eat in or order take-out at 804-694-0057 with a portion of the day’s sales supporting GICLF scholarships and educational enrichment grants.
Gary Ward, owner of Olivia’s, and his family have strong ties to the Mathews County Public School division. Harry M. Ward, Gary’s father, spent most of his career teaching and coaching football at Mathews High School, and served as Superintendent overseeing much building and expansion. The auditorium at MHS was named in his honor and the Harry M. and Margaret H. Ward Scholarship is awarded each year to an MHS graduating senior pursuing a degree in education.
