Deltas rout Pandas, survive Sharks

Scott Crump smashes a single in Wednesday’s win over the Trash Pandas. Crump went 3-for-7 over the weekend series, lifting the 12th-year Deltas’ veteran to a .323 season batting average.

The Deltaville Deltas came up big on the road last week in Richmond, taking out the Richmond Trash Pandas, 14-0, before surviving a close home matchup with the Chesapeake Sharks in an 8-6 game on Saturday night in Deltaville.With the wins, Deltaville moves to 8-2 overall on the season, with a 7-2 mark in league play. They sit 1.5 games ahead of the Richmond River Dogs in the East Division of the Richmond NABA standings.

This week, the Deltas traveled to Richmond to take on the defending league champions, Richmond El Heaters—results were not available at press time. On Saturday, the Deltas host the River Dogs in a key matchup that will be pivotal in determining the playoff seedings in August. First pitch Saturday night is 7:30.
