CLIFFORD FRANK ACKERSON

Clifford Frank Ackerson of Hayes, Va. entered God’s Kingdom on Feb. 16, 2016 at the age of 75.

Cliff was born Jan. 22, 1941, and grew up in Upper Saddle River, N.J. He graduated from Ambassador College in Bricket Wood, England, on June 13, 1969 and married his wife Betty on June 15, 1969.

He was blessed with a daughter, Bonnie Jolene and her husband Chadwick of San Antonio, and a son, Gregory Alexander and his wife Colleen of Yorktown, and his brother, Franklin Ackerson of Franklin, N.H. He was also blessed with two grandsons, Alexander and Ethan McAvoy.

He was retired from the U.S. Army and when he served, he had the opportunity to visit duty stations around the world. He distinguished himself with his participation in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He was an expert marksman, an avid reader of history and scripture, and loved walking the area’s Historic Triangle.

Burial services will be private at Windsor Gardens Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in early summer.
