Chesapeake Chorale begin rehearsals Sept. 10

The Chesapeake Chorale, a mixed-voice community group, will begin rehearsals on Monday, Sept. 10, at Kilmarnock United Methodist Church, 89 East Church Street.

The Chorale’s annual Christmas concerts will be held Nov. 30 at Northumberland High School (8 p.m.), Dec. 1 at Lancaster Middle School (8 p.m.), and Dec. 2 at St. Clare Walker Middle School (3 p.m.).

The chorale will also present music for the “Holly and the Ivy” service at Historic Christ Church at 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 3.

Artistic director Dr. Cheryl Davis is looking forward to another wonderful season of many Christmas favorites of singers and audiences alike, a release stated. Selections for this 23rd year of concerts include Irving Berlin’s Christmas (medley), Sweet Little Jesus Boy, The Light of Christmas Morn, How Great Our Joy, and, from The Messiah, For Unto Us a Child is Born.
