Celebrating Kwanzaa

At Imani, the seventh day of Kwanzaa, family and friends of the Paynes gathered for a celebration in Gloucester’s Hunters Run subdivision. Darryl “Chico” Payne reported that four generations of his family were there; and that he is thankful to be alive to embrace his great-grandchildren. Instead of featuring another country within the diaspora this year, information and research were focused on the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and its effects on his multiracial family members, neighbors and friends, a release stated.
