Christchurch School in Middlesex County has been selected to host the 2026 InterScholastic Sailing Association (ISSA) Team Race National Championship, known as the Baker Trophy. The Baker Trophy brings together the top high school sailing teams from across the country. The championship will take place May 15-17 on the Rappahannock River at the school’s waterfront campus in Virginia. Christchurch is one of the few schools nationally with the facilities, fleet, and river access capable of hosting a regatta of this caliber, a release said, noting it is unusual for a school to host the competition. The three-day regatta, held annually since 1989, features team racing, a fast-paced and highly strategic format. Twelve schools will qualify through regional and national competitions leading up to the championship. The event is free and open to the public.
