CCS soccer, football in contention for state titles

Christchurch School’s soccer and football teams are in contention for state titles, according to CCS Director of Athletics and Co-Curriculars John Dehm.

The soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the VISAA Division 2 playoffs after hosting and defeating #7-ranked Norfolk Collegiate, 2-1, at Nunn Field in the state quarterfinals Monday. The #2-ranked Seahorses will play the #3-ranked North Cross Raiders at 5:30 today, Thursday, Nov. 9, at City Stadium in Richmond. VISAA will charge $10 per person, with tickets available online at SeatGeek.com.

After hosting and defeating Covenant School of Charlottesville, 65-34, in the semifinals of the VISFL Eight-Man Division 1 playoffs, the football team advances to the championship game vs. Virginia Episcopal School at Dinwiddie Sports Complex in Sutherland at noon Saturday.
