CCS shuts out Mathews girls in soccer

The Mathews High School varsity girls’ soccer team is still looking for its first win following Tuesday night’s 8-0 loss on the road to Christchurch School. The squad is currently 0-6 in its inaugural season.

While there were no goals scored for the Lady Blue Devils, they managed to stay positive on and off the field and kept great Mathews pride. The tough keeper, Trinity Reynolds, had an impressive 18 saves in the first half of the game, along with two more in the second half. Defensive player Adelle Hudgins had 11 intercepts during this game, as well as one steal.

As the girls move on from this loss, they will look to break into the win column on Monday when they travel to Northumberland High School for a 6 o’clock game.
