Brenda Faye Unangst, 59, of Gloucester, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.

She was born in Virginia Beach, and was retired from the Gloucester County School System where she was a cafeteria manager at Peasley Middle School and then at Bethel Elementary School. She was also a licensed cosmetologist and a former member of the Moose Lodge in Portsmouth.

She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Jones; mother, Edith Scott Sweet, and a brother, William Jones, and is survived by her husband, Raymond I. Unangst; her sons, Anthony Ray Unangst and his wife Carlene, Cody Ray Unangst and his wife Kayla; sisters, Carol Tonaus and Jeanette Longmoore; brother, Billy Earl Jones; grandchildren, Sophie Rae Unangst and Blake Andrew Unangst.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, from 3-4 p.m., with a graveside service at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2017 at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Va.
