The Cannon Tap Room at Brass Cannon Brewing in Williamsburg offers micro craft ales, lagers, and nano small batches by the glass or in a can, all discounted for first responders and the military Saturday night includes live music, while Thursday is Trivia Night, with prizes.

Owner Matt Webb said the business tries to strike a balance between “local haunt and venue for fun” while offering both standard classic beer styles and weekly new releases. He said he started the business because of his love of beer and the community that exists around craft beer.

Webb began by brewing beer at home, then progressed to making brewery-level beers by scaling up his equipment. It was a challenge with financing, he said, but he was eventually able to acquire and install a real brew system. Over time, he was able to maintain product consistency.
