BOS to hold hearing on vape shop business licenses Tuesday

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will hold a hearing to consider the business licenses of five vape and tobacco shops in the county Tuesday evening in the colonial courthouse, beginning at 6 o’clock. The supervisors unanimously voted to suspend the licenses of five vape stores last month at the request of Sheriff Darrell Warren, directly following the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office’s seizure of over 2,400 items that were believed to be unlawful. The sale of Schedule I narcotics is suspected to be occurring at these stores. Also on the agenda is a public hearing to consider an ordinance that would allow the creation of community development authorities within the county. If approved, residents will have the opportunity to petition the county to form CDAs in their neighborhoods. CDAs are geographically-designed tax districts created to allow partnerships between public and private entities, which are formed to finance and develop infrastructure and other improvements.
