BOS receives FY25 financial report

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors received the county’s preliminary unaudited financial report for fiscal year 2025, which was presented by Deputy County Administrator Maria Calloway.
Most of the county’s general fund revenue comes from real estate/personal property taxes and other local taxes (such as bank stock, deeds, meals and sales) for a total of 81 percent.
Real estate experienced a 3.1-cent tax increase and personal property had a 15-cent increase for FY25. The real estate tax exceeded the budget by 2 percent ($642,000) and personal property exceeded it by 3 percent ($479,000). Total general fund revenue came in approximately $830,000 higher than originally budgeted.
The county ended its general fund spending for the fiscal year 3 percent under budget, amounting to $1.5 million. Public safety, judicial administration, public works and community development all came in under budget. Education also came in slightly under budget.
