Blue moon

A blue moon, the second full moon in a calendar month, appears about every two and a half years, according to NASA. A full moon occurs on Halloween every 19 years and a Halloween full moon hasn’t appeared in all time zones since 1944 … but it did on Saturday, lighting the way for trick-or-treaters. Above, puffy clouds drift by quickly as the evening was a little windy, as seen from Hayes.
