These local anglers received citations from the Virginia Saltwater Fishing Tournament for these catches:

Mark Michel of Mathews, 67-pound, 59-inch cobia caught June 2 at York Spit Light;

Robert F. Flippin of Gloucester, 57-inch cobia caught and released June 2 at York Spit Light;

Joseph Brown of Hayes, 54-inch cobia caught and released June 2 at York Spit Light; and,

Sidney A. Moore, 5-pound, 8-ounce, 27.5-inch speckled trout caught June 19 in the Ware River.
