Baystars recap

HAMMERHEADS: The Baystars Hammerheads traveled to Elizabeth City, N.C., on Saturday to play the CUSA Lightning to a 4-1 victory. The first half resulted in a one-point lead off a sneaky volley into the goal from Aaron Hines. In the beginning of the second half, the opponents put a direct kick into the upper 90 to tie the game.

Soon after, Cam Bower received a long pass and with a few skillful touches was able to find a slot to connect for a goal. Hines expertly placed a direct kick just above the hands of the goalie from distance as the result of a foul. The final score was placed by Haydin Arquette with a laser shot through the hands of the goalie into the back of the net. Great offensive support was provided by Cole Christensen, Owen Steele and Milo Despinis. 

In a dramatic clash of the last two unbeaten teams, the Hammerheads met the Beach FC Grizzlies back home on Sunday at Woodville Park. The Baystars found themselves down one goal at the half. The team recovered by scoring...
