Author Daniel Black, left, an associate professor at Clark Atlanta University, visited with participants in The Gloucester Institute’s Emerging Leaders program at the Moton Center in Cappahosic on June 24. Following a catered buffet dinner, Black gave a dramatic reading from his 2010 novel “Perfect Peace,” the story of a woman who, on the day her seventh son is born, decides the boy will be raised as the girl she has always wanted. Published by St. Martin’s Press, the book is approaching one million in sales and is being considered for a movie, said Black.
