Arthur Lee Brooks, 69, of Mathews, Virginia, was called to his heavenly home on Dec. 24, 2016.

He was the owner of Brooks Woodworking for many years. 

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Della Brooks; daughter, Melissa Brooks; granddaughter, Trinity Brooks; mother, Helen B. Sheppard; brother, Mac Sheppard (Katherine); sisters, Helen Pope, Cindy Maultsby, Marjorie Brooks (Frank), Charlotte Taylor, Sandra Bell (Alonzo) and Betty Richardson (Charlie).

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at the Morning Glory Baptist Church, Gloucester. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The viewing will be 4-6 p.m. on Friday and noon-1 on Saturday at the church.
