The Gloucester Planning Commission has recommended that the capital projects submitted for consideration for the FY 2018-2022 Capital Improvement Plan be consistent with and supportive of the county’s Comprehensive Plan.
During its regular monthly meeting in the colonial courthouse held Dec. 1, the commissioners offered for consideration project rankings that will be incorporated into the overall CIP selection process.
Anne Ducey-Ortiz, director of planning and zoning, said that the rankings of several dozen CIP requests from various departments showed the projects to be either directly consistent or generally consistent with the comp plan.
The list includes projects as varied as expanding the Social Services Building, improvements at several county parks, bathroom renovations at several public schools, and new voting machines.
