Bay Aging program seeks to help veterans remain in their homes

As fireworks light up the sky this Independence Day holiday, Americans will gather to celebrate America250 and the foundational liberties of the nation—liberties hard-won by the brave individuals who wore the uniform. But for many who served, the most critical battleground today isn’t a distant shore; it’s the quiet fight to maintain personal independence right in their own homes. Bay Aging’s Veteran Directed Care (VDC) program seeks to fill this gap. VDC is a self-directed program for eligible veterans of any age who are at risk of nursing home placement, a release said. The program helps veterans with disabilities or chronic conditions remain in their homes and communities for as long as possible.
