115 YEARS AGOThursday, June 14, 1906from the Mathews Journal The Davis Carriage Company of Gloucester has just received a carload of new vehicles. Mr. Joseph Hudgins of Diggs will add to his dwelling home this summer. The Methodists of the West Mathews Circuit will have a grand picnic party at the home of Mr. Charles Crockett on July 4. Every one is supposed to bring a basket. Ice cream and other refreshments will be on sale. The Ladies’ Aid Society will have charge of the ice cream, &c., and the proceeds therefrom will go to the parsonage fund. 110 YEARS AGOThursday, June 15, 1916from the Mathews Journal For sale: A sail skiff 19 feet long and 4½ feet wide, capable of carrying bushels of oysters.
