Mathews May Faire a ‘wonderful success’

While there were a few sprinkles on Saturday morning when the Mathews High School band was playing, and the winds were fairly intense at times on Sunday, the weather held out for the most part for this year’s Mathews May Faire, according to co-chairman Melody Barnes. “The Mathews May Faire Committee would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who helped make this year’s May Faire such a wonderful success,” she said. This year’s May Faire opened with Lynette Glockner singing the National Anthem, as members of American Legion Post 83 served as the color guard. Both days included a lineup of music and other performances on the main stage, which was set up on the court green.
