In the final game before spring break, the Mathews High School varsity softball team dropped a road game on Friday to Westmoreland, 12-2. Mathews took a 2-0 into the bottom of the third inning, then the bottom fell out for the Devils. The Eagles scored five runs in the third inning and another seven in the fourth to put the game out of reach. Christiana Wood singled with two RBIs and earned three strikeouts while pitching. Laura Rowe contributed a single. Lindsay Coons scored a run, and Hannah Davis singled and scored a run.
