Deloris Stokes has raised $6,875 this year, with her church, First Morning Star Baptist, Bena, for the Gloucester United Emergency Shelter Team (GUEST) program for 2025. This is the fifth year that Stokes has led the fundraising effort. The money is designated to keep the area’s homeless population safe from the elements. Funds were raised through the donation of First Morning Star and its members, local business, family and friends. “On behalf of all who have given, it is greatly appreciated and may God bless each of you,” said the treasurer of the church led by Pastor Larry Arrington.
