4 indicted following Gloucester drug investigation

Over $20,000 in U.S. currency and 500 grams of suspected cocaine were recovered in July after the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Virginia State Police Tri-River Drug Task Force executed a residential search warrant at the 10500 block of Indian Road due to an ongoing narcotics distribution investigation.

The warrant was executed in the early morning hours of July 25. Following execution of the search warrant, a criminal investigation continued, and evidence was presented to a Gloucester County Grand Jury on Sept. 5.

Four Gloucester individuals were indicted as a result—56-year-old Weldon Edward Lockley, 55-year-old Charlotte Sue Mullins, 57-year-old William Lee Whiting and 61-year-old Phillip Lawson Ward. Mullins and Ward were charged with maintaining a fortified drug house, while Lockley and Whiting also face drug distribution charges.
