250th events continue in area

While the 250th anniversary of Independence Day has come and gone, events to celebrate continue in Gloucester and Mathews, and include the following: Thursday, July 9-Sunday, July 12 Battle of Cricket Hill Commemoration: Gwynn’s Island Civic Center, 1996 Old Ferry Road, and Morningstar Marinas, 249 Mill Point Road, Hudgins, July 9-12, host the 250th Anniversary Celebration of the Battle of Cricket Hill. Friday, July 17-Sunday, July 19 The musical play “Crickets on a Hill,” which debuted for its 2026 set of performances on July 2, will continue on Friday, July 17, with performances on Friday and Saturday, July 17 and 18, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, July 19, at 3 p.m. All performances will be in the Harry M.
