2 forums to address Main Street improvements

Mathews residents will have a chance to learn about Mathews Main Street Committee’s continuing efforts to enhance Main Street during a pair of upcoming public forums.

The update will address work that is planned for the portion of Main Street beginning where the previous project left off, in front of Food Lion, and continuing north to the intersection with Buckley Hall Road.

Both forums will be held at Thomas Hunter Middle School, with the first from 2-3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, and the second on from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8.

Each forum will be structured to allow those attending to view technical documents relating to the project and to ask questions relative to specific aspects of the project, said a press release from Main Street Committee chair Bette Dillehay. Representatives of the committee and Mathews County staff members will be on hand to provide information and respond to questions.
