11U Kraken split games vs Venom

The Baystars Kraken 11U faced the Virginia Venom in Williamsburg on Sunday, splitting two games. The Kraken took game one, 17-6, but lost in the nightcap, 14-8.

Kane Shager started the game on the mound for the Kraken, pitching three innings. Shager allowed six runs, recorded two strikeouts and walking one.

On offense, Conner Lee and Wesley Falkenberg recorded three runs each. William Rousseau and Gage Mulcahy had two runs each, while Kaiden Williams, Benjamin Patterson, Callum Lenczewski and Duke Hamm all crossed home plate once. The team had 17 stolen bases in the game with Falkenberg stealing six.

The Kraken trailed the Venom for most of the game despite the players’ efforts. Falkenberg, Williams and Mulcahy each record two runs. Conner Lee and Shager each scored once. Falkenberg started the game on the mound with Hamm and Rousseau pitching in relief. The team had 15 stolen bases in the game.
