11U Kraken Jacks compete in Field of Screams tournament

The Baystars 11U Kraken Jacks baseball team played in the fifth annual Field of Screams tournament this past weekend at Indian River High School in Chesapeake.

On Saturday, the Kraken Jacks faced the Western Branch Minions 11U in their first game. The Baystars stayed in it till the end, but the Minions pulled away late in a 5-4 win.

Conner Lee was on the mound for the Kraken Jacks. The right-hander pitched two innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out three and walking one. Kane Shager threw two innings in relief, closing out the game. William Rousseau went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Baystars in hits.

In game two, the Baystars watched the game slip away late in a 5-4 loss against the Five Star Mafia. Wesley Falkenberg toed the rubber for the Kraken Jacks. The southpaw lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out one.
