100+ residents come out in opposition to proposed cuts

More than 100 residents showed up to a town hall meeting March 11 hosted by the chairs and vice chairs of the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors and the Gloucester School Board, with most of those in attendance pleading with county leaders to maintain local funding levels for civic organizations.

The show of support apparently had its desired effect. During Tuesday’s meeting in the colonial courthouse, the board of supervisors voted unanimously to maintain the county’s contributions to local nonprofits at current levels.

The town hall format provided concerned residents the opportunity to exchange open dialogue with county leaders that included supervisors Ashley Chriscoe and John Meyer Jr. and school board members Troy Andersen and Charles Records.
