YVONNE THERESE VONNIEDA

June 24, 1937-June 10, 2018

Yvonne Therese VonNieda of Mechanicsville, Maryland, went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2018.

She was born in Wyandotte, Michigan, and graduated from Juneau High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Daniel S. VonNieda Jr. of Mechanicsville; her daughters, Therese King Simon (James) of Mechanicsville, Pamela Higgs (Joe) of Newburg, Michigan; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and her brother, Robert Bolton of Millville, Utah.

She worked in the Washington, D.C., area from 1960-1980 as clerical typist for the U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office and the U.S. Census Bureau. She volunteered in the Maryland Public School System, and was a member of the Annapolis Quilt Guild. She had a passion for helping others and volunteered at the Laurel Shelter for abused women in Gloucester; made scarfs and blankets for the homeless and gave to missionaries and other religious organizations. 

She and her husband moved back from Glenns to Maryland in June 2017. 

She was a member of Newington Baptist Church, Gloucester, for over 15 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the church on Tuesday, July 10 at 2 p.m.
