Bertie Blaylock Givans of Gloucester, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026. She was born on March 25, 1928. She was 98 years old.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Thomas Givans; her parents, Carroll W. Blaylock and Mary Virginia Blaylock; her son-in-law, Edward Burress; her grandson-in-law, Donnie McGee; her sisters-in-law, Edna Downs and Margaret Blaylock; her brothers-in-law, Normand Hebert and James Downs; and her nephew, Kenneth Hebert.

She is survived by her children, Nancy G. Burress and Thomas W. Givans; two granddaughters, Lisa Carol McGee and Amanda Kaye Eubank (Brian); two great-granddaughters, Katelyn Hunt (Dalton) and Courtney Renee McGee; her sister, Jeanette Hebert; her brother, Kenneth Ray Blaylock, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service was held at Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory, Gloucester, on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026. Visitation began at 10 a.m. and the service at 11. Burial was at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, P.O.
