Rep. Rob Wittman (R-Montross) will be in Mathews this morning to present funding he secured as a Community Project Funding request to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Middle Peninsula Public Access Authority.
The presentation will take place at 9:35 a.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 29, at the Winter Harbor Landing at the end of Potato Neck Road in Port Haywood.
According to a media advisory from his office on Wednesday morning, Wittman secured $2 million to support Winter Harbor dredging, as well as $810,000 to help the Middle Peninsula Chesapeake Bay Public Access Authority acquire upland sites for the disposal of dredge material that’s not suitable for reuse as shoreline habitat....
