WINNIE V. BERRY

Winnie V. Berry departed this life on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 2018, at the age of 93 in Walter Reed Convalescent Center.

Winnie was born in Gloucester County on May 14, 1925 to the late Alexander and Ethel Lee Berry. He was a World War II veteran having served his country in the United States Navy. He attended Gloucester Training School, and retired from Eastern State Hospital.

Mr. Berry was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, as well as a member of American Legion Post No 75.  

In addition to his parents, a sister, Mary, and brothers, Walter, Leroy, Thomas, and Stanley preceded him in death.

He is survived by his brother, William Berry (Kate); sister, Christine Evans, both of Gloucester, and sister, Edith Morgan of Mathews, along with a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Eugene F. Comithier II was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Gloucester. The family received friends Wednesday from noon-1 p.m. prior to the service. Inurnment was held in Windsor Gardens Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Walter Reed Convalescent Center for his care during his lengthy illness.
