Wild Horse Café opens at White Marsh

The Wild Horse Country Café & Malt Shoppe at the White Marsh Shopping Center, Gloucester County’s newest eatery, held its grand opening on Saturday.

The day included drawings for prizes, free ice cream cups, and food and drink specials, said Robin McClaine, who owns the restaurant with Sammy Zaharopoulos. McClaine manages the dining room and adjacent deck, while Zaharopoulos is the chef and in charge of the kitchen.

McClaine said they pride themselves on large portions, and a large horse statue greets guests as they enter, setting the tone. McClaine said she has always had opening a restaurant on her “bucket list” of things to accomplish in her lifetime.

The restaurant serves what McClaine and Zaharopoulos term “American fare.” The Wild Horse serves breakfast only on Saturday and Sunday, lunch Tuesday through Sunday, and dinner Tuesday through Saturday. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.
