The U11 Whitecaps defeated Xtreme 2015/16, 5-0, Sunday at Woodville Park in Gloucester. Colton Bergstrom accounted for the lone goal of the first half, while goalkeeper Fett Kutch kept Xtreme off the scoreboard with three saves. In the second half, Bergstrom completed his hat trick by scoring two more goals. Donnie Wolford contributed two additional goals and added an assist to one of Bergstrom’s. Triffon Luechauer recorded five saves in the second half to secure the shutout win. Due to his strong performance throughout the game, Bergstrom was awarded the Whitecaps’ first-ever “Hungry Hippo” award. The 5-0 victory marks the team’s third win of the season.
