Ware Academy held a banquet last week to celebrate its fall athletic season. Coaches provided an overview of their respective seasons and distributed awards.
Volleyball, with only two losses, claimed the championship title in the Peninsula Independent Athletic League conference. Marlowe Merritt received the Most Valuable Player Award; Ella Faulkner and Hailey Love both received a Coach’s Award; Reylan Miltenberger was selected for the Most Improved Award; and Kayla Ly earned the Hustle Pride Heart Award.
For soccer, Adam Fleet earned the MVP Award; Jackson Miller was selected for the Coach’s Award; Grace McCurry was named Most Improved; and Gladys Sinko-Hickman earned the Hustle Pride Heart Award.
The golf team had a successful season, winning the Independent Schools Athletic Conference golf championship. Brandon Hubbard was awarded MVP; Jackson Koch and Morgan Sterne both received the Coach’s Award; Elora Totten was awarded Most Improved; and Brady Zoll was selected for the Hustle Pride Heart Award.
For cross country, Quinn Hendricks was selected as MVP; Dylan Smith was given the Coach’s Award; and Samuel Coggeshall was selected for Most Improved.
