VSU to hold sessions regarding the small farmer

Virginia State University is hosting a number of in-person and online sessions in coming weeks targeting the small farmer.
At 6:30 tonight, Thursday, Nov. 20, VSU holds a Microsoft Teams Virtual Meeting on “Profitable Roots: Trust in Wills, and Wills in Trust.” Michael Carter Jr. of Carter Farms and Africulture will lead the session, with invited guests.
Mushroom cultivation is the topic at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, in a session at The Tidewater Mushroom Company LLC, 4675 East Princess Anne Road, Norfolk. Topics will include common gourmet mushroom varieties and their uses.
“Start Smart: Building Your Agri-Business” is the topic at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center in Harrisonburg. The workshop is geared to agricultural producers to address the specific areas of concern and growth related to farm enterprises.
