VIRGINIA BROWN BELVIN

A graveside service for Virginia Brown Belvin, 94, of Bena, was held at 11 a.m. Monday in Gloucester Point Cemetery. She died Oct. 7, 2015.

She was a graduate of Achilles High School and a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir and the United Methodist Women. She also attended Union Baptist Church and was a member of various circles and organizations of Union.

For many years, she was the receptionist at the Gloucester Medical Building for Doctors Raymond and William Brown, as well as Dr. James Ransone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Jones Belvin; her brother, Joseph E. (Joe) Brown, and her parents, J. Herbert and Nellie Estes Brown.

Survivors include daughters, Irma B. White and Scotty Belvin South McCloud; sister, Marguerite Smith; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Carol Bookwalter. Following the service everyone gathered at the social hall of Bethlehem U.M. Church for a time of food and fellowship.
